On the drive home we stopped to take a look at the Brooks Aqueduct. It was erected of 90 years ago and it stretched the limits of design and technology at the time. Sadly though, it no longer carries water.
We saw signs for the Bassano Dam so decided to take a look at that too. The Bassano Dam provides 1,200 irrigation farmers with water through a system of 3,000 miles of canals, drains and internal storage reservoirs. In addition, it supplies water to industry, wet land habitats and towns and villages serving a population of 18,000 people. Construction began in 1910 and it opened in April 1914.
Now it really is time to head home!
